Solar Panel Installation for a HRB Development in London
The Project
A residential development in Croydon, South London.
Spanning two 9-storey blocks (Blocks A & B) containing 116 affordable and shared-ownership homes, the development presented a complex high-rise installation environment. Because both blocks exceed 18 metres, strict adherence to Higher-Risk Building (HRB) regulations under the Building Safety Act 2022 was mandatory.
Our role was to deliver the complete design, supply, and technical installation of high-capacity rooftop solar PV systems across both primary residential blocks.
What We Delivered
We engineered and installed a complete rooftop solar system optimised for maximum clean energy generation across both main roof footprints whilst applying strict safety-first standards in line with the Building Safety Act 2022, including fire-rated cable containment, robust DC isolation, and structural wind-loading calculations to meet HRB compliance requirements.
The solar systems provide long-term clean energy generation, cutting ongoing carbon footprint and supporting sustainable living for more than 100 London households

Our Approach
Installing solar PV on two 18m+ Higher-Risk Buildings required absolute technical precision, rigid safety management, and seamless coordination on a busy London site. Arc Line Design successfully delivered a complete rooftop solar package - fully compliant with the Building Safety Act 2022 and BS 7671 standards - helping power a major affordable housing development with clean, sustainable energy.
We provided full digital handover packs - including signed Electrical Installation Certificates (EIC), MCS documentation, and as-built schematics -to support the client's permanent digital safety records.
We also integrated smoothly with on-site craneage, scaffolding, M&E, and façade contractors to ensure safe, on-schedule delivery without disrupting wider site logistics.
